The Fathering Project’s vision is for every child in Australia to have an effective father figure. Since its inception and more recently since Prof Robinson’s was put into the spotlight as WA’s 2014 Australian of the Year, the program has gone from strength to strength, expanding across Australia and to six different countries with incredible results.

Mr F. Mallard, Yamatji man, was awarded the WA 2019 Senior Citizen of the Year for his long awaited recognition as an army veteran and his advocacy work to obtain recognition for his service.

Aboriginal Cultural Awareness and Knowledge training is a new initiative now being offered by Auspire and directly supports its strategy to build social and cultural inclusion so that all Australians feel a deeper sense of belonging

Auspire held the third annual Inspiring Australians Student Forum with the current Australian of the Year, WA’s Dr Craig Challen and WA’s Young Australian of the Year Noelle Martin to discuss their perspectives of courage and resilience.

An initiative developing young people, predominantly from CaLD and other disadvantaged backgrounds, into strong community leaders.

January 2020 will mark the 60th anniversary of the Australian of the Year Awards, honouring and celebrating great Australians from all walks of life.

Through Auspire’s partnerships with various organisations Auspire is able to support the acknowledgement and recognition of our First Nations People to ensure its significance in our progress as a collective nation.

Volunteers are undoubtedly the backbone of Australia’s society and we thank every one of them for their support of community organisations and events throughout the year.

Members from Culturally and Linguisticaly Diverse backgrounds are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest to participate in a Governance Leadership program offered by the Office of Multicultural Interest.
