A Future Without Plastic Waste

  • 3 December 2019

Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest, 2017 WA Australian of the Year, philanthropist, entrepreneur, PhD candidate, mining magnate and proponent for plastic recycling, recently spoke with Chris Anderson, Head of TED. Andrew named the problem he is obsessed with as plastic and “our inability to use it for the tremendous energetic commodity that it is”. Instead, we simply throw it away.

The stimulating discussion highlighted that plastic never stops being plastic, and the breaking science on how microplastics are invading our bodies. Andrew noted that Ellen MacArthur Foundation research indicates there will be one tonne of plastic for every three tonnes of fish by 2025*.

Andrew not only highlights some of the issues the Earth is facing, he has an idea to create a global industry, and how you can help.

Make a cup of tea and listen to this informative and creative discussion on how to use entrepreneurial ideas to solve environmental and economic problems. It’s good business.
