Reconciliation WA, City of Perth and Auspire – Australia Day Council WA established an alliance to ensure respect and acknowledgement of the past plays a vital role in Australia Day activities and initiatives.

The Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program aims to help highly-skilled, professional migrants and refugees to improve their employment potential by connecting them with mentors from their industry or occupation.

Last week Auspire was pleased to hear of the appointment of Mr Mohammad Al-Khafaji to the role of FECCA Acting CEO. Mr Al-Khafaji was formerly FECCA Director of Strategy and Engagement and bring a wealth of experience to the table.

The UN Association of Australia (WA Division) has organised an exhibition on 10 December 2018 (Monday) from 6:00-8:30pm at the State Library of WA (25 Francis St., Perth WA 6000). The evening will include a keynote address on the history and importance of human rights followed by a panel discussion that explores human rights concerns facing Australia today. 

Auspire joined forces with the Constitutional Centre in West Perth to again host a fully booked community masterclass about Active Citizenship and the Constitution on Tuesday 6th November with over 65 people registering to attend.

Auspire has commenced fundraising with the entertainment Book to support its social and cultural inclusion programs.

A cave-diving rescuer, a mountaineer who overcame spinal injury, an advocate for Indigenous servicemen and women, a basketballer building kids’ self-esteem, a young Indigenous activist and a woman saving bears from bile farms are among the 16 finalists over 4 categories for the WA 2019 Australian of the Year Awards.

Forty-two years after it opened its doors in Western Australia, Auspire – The Australia Day Council of WA has been accepted by the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission as a Tax Concessional Charity.

Auspire welcomes Australia’s next Race Discrimination Commissioner, Mr Chin-Leong Tan, a former lawyer who has held a number of diversity-focused leadership roles over two decades.

People across the world joined together for a minute’s silence at noon today to commemorate and acknowledge the United Nation’s International Day of Peace. Auspire – The Australia Day Council’s work is closely aligned to the UN’s sustainable goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and this year joined the movement.
