The 2022 WA Australian of the Year Awards were announced last night (Thursday 4 November 2021) in a glittering Awards Ceremony at the Westin Hotel, Perth.

The National Australia Day Council, in collaboration with the Australia Day Council network  is offering a total of $7.4 million in grants to Australian local government authorities and community organisations.

Auspire is delighted to welcome environmentalist, Nahrel Dallywater, as its newest Ambassador.

Finalists include a Noongar culture conservationist, a public safety expert, a man helping migrants settle, artists shining a light on disability and diversity and the founder of an initiative giving haircuts to the homeless.

Auspire is proud to announce that leading Perth Media Executive, Clive Bingwa, has joined the Auspire Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Commonwealth funding for Australia Day community events will help to deliver a more culturally inclusive Australia Day.

At another successful Inspiring Australians Breakfast, Professor Helen Milroy was joined by the Chief Psychiatrist of WA and the Commissioner for Children and Young People WA to highlight the challenges and offer invaluable advice.

Auspire caught up with 2021 Community Citizen of the Year, Diane Wilcox, to find out about the growth of her program, The Magic Coat, and how it’s working to benefit children’s mental health.

Emeritus Professor, Chemmangot Nayar, was a 2021 finalist for WA Australian of the Year, for his pioneering research in clean energy.

Auspire was delighted to welcome Year 10s to Murdoch University for the latest Student Forum, to hear from Inspiring Australians Radheya Jegatheva, Rebecca Prince-Ruiz and Julian Pace.

Auspire brought Australian of the Year and Community Citizen of the Year alumni together with students for our latest Inspiring Australians Student Forum at University of Western Australia’s Octagon Theatre.

Auspire is pleased to get behind the “Be a Vocal Local” campaign to encourage engagement with the Local Government elections and to help promote participation and nominations from all members of the community to ensure our local communities  have strong, diverse and inclusive representation that reflect the local communities being served.
