Conversation series, My Australia Story, launches season three
As a long-standing supporter of the My Australia Story initiative from the University of Western Australia, Auspire was honoured to attend the official launch of Season Three at the University Club.
The launch featured an address from the Hon Pierre Lang MLC, along with words of encouragement from presenting partner, WA Museum Boola Bardip CEO, Alec Coles OBE, and Pamela Currie, Director, Western Australia State Office, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. We were also joined by previous storytellers and had the opportunity to also meet the stars of the new season.
Created, curated and produced by Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor of UWA Global Engagement, Professor Maggie Jiang, in partnership with WA Museum Boola Bardip, My Australia Story takes us on a journey into the lives, experiences and achievements of celebrated immigrant Australians whose stories have and are still shaping the Australia we know today.
Auspire was again delighted to celebrate its own Ambassadors and Awards’ alumni who feature in the new season including WA 2023 Australian of the Year, Professor Samar Aoun AM, and Auspire Ambassador, Asha Bhat OAM.
“Maggie Jiang has done an incredible job with My Australia Story, which provides a wonderful platform for people to share the journeys, experiences and moments that have shaped their sense of belonging in Australia,” says Morgen Lewis, CEO of Auspire – Australia Day Council WA. “We are delighted these stories are being told, reinforcing the enormous influence migrants have towards the strength, and character of Australia’s national identity.”
The first two episodes of the season are now available on the WA Museum Boola Bardip website, with remaining episodes to be released over the coming year.
