Australia Day Community Event Grants return for 2025

  • 28 August 2024

Auspire is thrilled to confirm that Australia Day Community Event Grants will be available again for Australia day 2025. Supported by the Federal Government via the National Australia Day Council, over $4.5 million in grants will be available to apply from 16 September 2024, with the aim to foster community spirit and inclusivity across the nation on our national day.

Since its inception in 2021, the Australia Day grant program has played a pivotal role in facilitating thousands of community events, ranging from Welcomes to Country and citizenship ceremonies to multicultural festivals and morning teas. This year, the program will continue its mission to help Australians come together to reflect, respect and celebrate on Australia Day.

This is an opportunity to enhance community cohesion and showcase Australia’s vibrant cultural tapestry on a significant national occasion.

Grant Details

Local Government Authorities, community groups and not-for-profits can apply for a primary grant of $10,000 (excluding GST) to support the delivery of Australia Day 2025 events. In addition, organisers who incorporate significant Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander elements into their events are eligible for an extra $5,000 (excluding GST). This additional funding is aimed at ensuring these critical cultural elements are prominently featured and celebrated.

Application Requirements

The application window for grants is Monday 16 September – Friday 11 October 2024. Event hosts are encouraged to utilise the Australia Day national campaign theme ‘Reflect. Respect. Celebrate.’ branding and ensure their events are inclusive for all Australians.
