Auspire at the National Future Schools Expo to promote civics and citizenship during Harmony Week

  • 25 March 2019

The Auspire team hit the national education expo in Melbourne to promote civics and citizenship during Harmony Week.

With the support from the Department of Home Affairs, the Auspire team was in Melbourne, coinciding with Harmony Week to promote how the education department can efficiently integrate a successful program that reflects those typical values of what it means to be Australians.

Aussie of the Month is delivered by the same network that presents the Australian of the Year Awards nationally. The Australian of the Year Awards profile leading citizens are role models for us all, they inspire us through their achievements and community participation, and challenge us to make our own contribution to the community.

The Aussie of the Month program has been successfully running for over 20 years and is a primary school recognition program that identifies students achievements outside of sporting or academic application. The Aussie of the Month program is based on encouraging, amplifying and recognising students for their contributions to the community, which additionally develops a sense of belonging and therefore brings about an increased concern and considerations for others fostering a socially inclusive community.

The National Future Schools Expo was a great opportunity to present the benefits that the Program provides to our young citizens.
