  • 27 January 2026

Australia Day 2026 saw Australia’s rich cultural tapestry celebrated and respected in WA, with multicultural activations and performances delighting audiences who attended Australia Day festivities.

To start the day, Auspire was proud to host a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony in Victoria Gardens, East Perth. Some 200 attendees gathered to take in the cultural tradition, delivered by the wonderful team at Corroboree for Life. Following the performance, the Rotary Club of Heirisson fired up the barbecues for a delicious breakfast.

There was more cultural entertainment to be enjoyed in the afternoon within City of Perth’s Multicultural Zone at Langley Park. Auspire was proud to bring back the Reflect Respect Celebrate Film Dome to Australia Day festivities, showing the captivating Koora Koora: A Long Long Time Ago, featuring Aboriginal storytelling and illustrations, as well as Our Australian Values. Just outside the Film Dome were incredible cultural performances throughout the day including a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, Brazilian Samba, the Maori Haka and African drumming.
