Auspire Ambassadors to share their inspiring stories for Australia Day
A total of 22 Auspire Ambassadors will be travelling around WA to visit local communities for Australia Day 2025.
During the visits, these high contributors and change makers will share their personal stories of resilience, courage and dedication, and what it means to them to be Australian. With many appearances featuring as part of the community’s Australia Day event, they will also help out with activities such as judging competitions and the Community Citizen of the Year Awards’ ceremonies.
Making her inaugural appearance as an Australia Day Ambassador is Maisara Muzaffar, who is no stranger to the Community Citizen of the Year Awards, being recognised in the Young award category in 2024 for her work with Ubuntu Australia.
“I am thrilled to be appointed as an Australia Day Ambassador and can’t wait to share my personal story with the people of City of Melville,” says Maisara. “I am honoured to have the privilege to inspire others on the day we celebrate multiculturalism, our different communities and what it means to be Australian.”
Just next door in the City of Canning, 2022 WA Local Hero and Short Back & Sidewalks founder, Craig Hollywood, will be inspiring visitors of the Family Fun Day at Shelley Beach Foreshore.
Outside of the Perth metro area, Esperance will host another WA Local Hero – Nick Hudson, recognised in the 2024 Australian of the Year Awards for his impact with The Push-Up Challenge. Meanwhile, Broome will welcome 2010 WA Australian of the Year and Alzheimer’s researcher, Professor Ralph Martins AO, and Shire of East Pilbara will hear from Sam Thomas, co-founder of sustainable e-waste organisation, Sam’s Spares.
See below the complete list of who’s visiting where. We recommend enquiring with the local council as to the details of the visit, as event appearances may be public or by invite only.
