New Multicultural Grassroots Initiative grant opportunity for community groups

The Australian Government has announced a new Multicultural Grassroots Initiative grant opportunity for multicultural community-led organisations.
Open under the Department of Home Affairs’ Modernised Multicultural Grants Program, the initiative will provide $9.8 million of funding across two years, with grants of up to $100,000 available.
Multicultural organisations can apply for celebrations, such as events and festivals; amenities, such as equipment and furnishings; and intercultural connections, including sports and arts programs.
With building capacity for cultural diversity and inclusion a key priority, Auspire – Australia Day Council WA works closely with the citizenship and community engagement branch of the Department of Home Affairs, and commends the department for providing this initiative to support multicultural community groups, to strengthen them to serve their members and local communities, support inclusion and encourage a sense of belonging.
“We are pleased to see the launch of the Modernised Multicultural Grants Program with the Multicultural Grassroots Initiative and encourage Western Australian multicultural community organisations to apply for a grant, to assist them with delivering vital services and support to our multicultural population,” said Auspire CEO, Morgen Lewis.
Grant applications are now open and close 4 November 2024.
