Migrant storytelling series My Australia Story returns for third season
Conversation series, My Australia Story, has launched season three to share more inspiring stories of first-generation migrants.
Delivered by Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor of UWA Global Engagement, Professor Maggie Jiang, in partnership with WA Museum Boola Bardip, the series celebrates the people and stories that shape the multicultural Australia we know today.
As a supporter of the series and long-standing partner of the University of Western Australia, Auspire attended the official launch of the new season at the University Club, which featured an address from the Hon Pierre Lang MLC and words from WA Museum Boola Bardip CEO, Alec Coles OBE, and Pamela Currie, Director, Western Australia State Office, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. We were also joined by previous storytellers and the stars of the new season.
Season three features the stories of Auspire’s Inspiring Australians’ Network, WA 2023 Australian of the Year, Professor Samar Aoun AM, and Auspire Ambassador, Asha Bhat OAM.
“Australia is enriched by the many cultures, experiences and perspectives that shape our shared identity,” says Morgen Lewis, CEO of Auspire – Australia Day Council WA. “My Australia Story creates an important platform for people to share their individual journeys and the experiences that have shaped their place in our community. We are delighted to champion these voices to recognise the many ways they contribute to the strength and character of Australia.”
The first two episodes of the season are now available on the WA Museum Boola Bardip website, with remaining episodes to be released over the coming year.
