Lunch with Leaders – Is it time to break up with sugar?

On 23 July 2020 Auspire delivered another highly successful Lunch with Leaders event featuring 2020 Australian of the Year, Dr James Muecke AM and Senior Australian of the Year, Prof. John Newnham AM. Over 130 people registered to attend the free online forum as we explored the impact sugar has on our general health and wellbeing, from life before birth – right through to adulthood.

For a little over an hour, Dr Muecke and Prof. Newnham gave us a closer look at the various health implications sugar has on our bodies and also discussed the most recent information on COVID-19, before adding further ‘food for thought’ through an interactive Q&A session with participants. The session provided a terrific opportunity for attendees to delve deep into the great sugar debate, with our speakers leaving us with a lot to think about.

The event also provided the opportunity to welcome and acknowledge Chevron Australia, who has come on board as Diversity and Inclusion Partner for the Australian of the Year Awards.

If you missed this event, you can view it online via Auspire’s YouTube channel.

The next Lunch with Leaders event is already being planned and is scheduled for Citizenship Day on 17 September 2020. Our panel will include some of our incredible Young Australian of the Year Alumni who will be joining us from all over the world as we discuss the concept of Global Citizenship and how we can all become better Global Citizens.
