Australia Day 2025 an occasion to Reflect Respect Celebrate
There is no day in our national calendar like Australia Day. By its very name, it calls on all Australians to think of what it means to live here today, what came before, and what we want the future to look like.
It is a day to reflect on our history, to acknowledge the past and look to how we can lay a path to a stronger future for all Australians, from our First Peoples whose culture dates back 65,000 years, to new migrants who are choosing to call Australia home.
It is a day to pay respect to our individual stories, cultures and contributions that make Australia richer; that we all have a part to play in the ever-evolving story of our nation, from our First Nations’ deep connection to country, to those who have given their lives for our freedom.
It is a day to celebrate the rights and privileges that being Australian gives us. Take a moment to be proud of our democracy, our shared values, the strength and diversity of our people, and our beautiful natural environment.
Communities around Western Australia will be providing local people and visitors an opportunity to Reflect Respect Celebrate through smoking ceremonies, traditional language lessons and storytelling, plus citizenship ceremonies, awards ceremonies and flavourful cuisines that have travelled here from all around the world.

For Auspire, we’ll be presenting a full day of activities, starting off in the morning at Victoria Gardens in East Perth for a smoking ceremony and cultural performances, followed by a barbecue breakfast courtesy of the Rotary Club of Heirisson. In the afternoon, come join us at Langley Park where we’ll be presenting the Reflect Respect Celebrate Film Dome (back for its third year!) featuring beautiful and engaging films, alongside plenty of other family-friendly entertainment.
