Presented by the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Australian Human Rights Awards is an annual celebration of human rights achievements.

Join the free live stream to acknowledge, congratulate and share the important work of individuals and organisations making valuable contributions to advancing and protecting human rights in Australia.

The program for this year’s event will include:

• Human Rights Day Oration by the Australian Attorney-General, the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP
• A special commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
• Musical performances by Kee’ahn
• The Awards Ceremony, which will honour the 21 finalists across five award categories: Human Rights Medal, Young People’s Award, Media and Creative Industries Award, Community Award, and Law Award

The 2023 Awards finalists include Australian of the Year Alumni – WA 2024 Australian of the Year, Mechelle Turvey; WA 2023 Young Australian of the Year finalist, Zahra Al Hilaly; and 2022 Young Australian of the Year, Dr Daniel Nour. Read about all of the finalists here.
