Auspire – Australia Day Council of WA is excited to host an Inspiring Australians Student Forum for WA high school students to meet Australian of the Year Awards Alumni.

Student Forums are FREE EVENTS for WA Year 9 and 10 high school students and feature keynote presentations from a selection of WA and National Australian of the Year Award Alumni. Campus tours are also available.

The Speakers

Amar Singh
Driven by his Sikh faith, Amar Singh helps struggling Australians and subsequently break down barriers and change perceptions. For the impact he has made through his charity Turbans 4 Australia, Amar was named the 2023 Australia’s Local Hero in the Australian of the Year Awards. Watch his inspiring acceptance speech here.

Zahra Al Hilaly
A youth advocate pushing for equitable representation of marginalised people in constituencies, Zahra Al Hilaly has represented Australia on the UN Women’s Generation Equality Task Force and is on the board of YWCA Australia Young Women’s Council. In the last year, she has received the Youth Award in the 2022 WA Multicultural Awards and was named a finalist in the 2023 WA Young Australian of the Year Awards. Craig Foster AM
Craig is a social justice advocate and has spent the past decade campaigning for refugee rights and marginalised communities. He has been influential in helping people escape war and securing the freedom of refugees off and onshore in Australia. For his impact, Craig received the 2023 NSW Australian of the Year Award.
