Australia Day Grants – Round 2 Now Open!

Auspire is pleased to advise that the National Australia Day Council, with the support of the Commonwealth Government, has developed $8 million in grants across two packages to assist local government and the community sector deliver Covid-safe Australia Day events in 2021. The grant program is being coordinated in WA by Auspire – Australia Day Council WA.

We are excited to announce that this opportunity has now been extended to include Not for Profit Organisations and Community Groups.

On Australia Day, we reflect on our nation’s past which began more than 65,000 years ago, the impact of European settlement on our First Australians and the waves of immigration that have helped us become one of the world’s greatest multicultural success stories.

At the same time, we respect the contributions of everyday Australians, just like those in the campaign, and we celebrate by coming together and connecting with family, friends, community.

There is no doubt that Local Governments and Community groups play a vital role on Australia Day in Western Australia. We acknowledge this has been a challenging year, therefore this grant program is to provide much needed advice and financial support to assist Local Government in the delivery of their Australia Day events.

Current Round:

Australia Day Branding $1,000 Grants

To help with the planning of Australia Day 2021, Councils, Not For Profit Organisations and Community Groups will be able to access artwork for a nationally themed range of Australia Day branded merchandise including banners, bunting, posters, tablecloths, napkins and more.

To financially assist the production costs for these branded materials, you may apply for a $1,000 grant to pay for production and printing. You may opt to produce locally (to support local businesses and jobs) or purchase the materials directly from here.

Submissions are now open.  Submissions close 5:00PM 9 November 2020 (AEDST).

For more information or support preparing your application, contact Kirsten Larkin, Grants Program Manager, Auspire – Australia Day Council WA by email.

Both new and existing events are eligible. If you’re delivering an existing event, the monetary contribution must be equal to that of previous years (not including sponsorships or in-kind support).

COVID-Safe Australia Day Event grants are not only in place to assist the successful delivery of a safe event, they are also to support the local economy including your local service and event support providers.
