DESCRIPTION:Auspire – Australia Day Council WA presents an interactive online Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Workshop to gain an awareness of the culture\, history and experiences of Australia’s First Peoples. Delivered within a culturally safe and inclusive framework\, you will have the opportunity to learn\, discuss and have your questions answered. \nFacilitated by a First Nations’ Noongar leader\, this workshop explores the values and belief systems of Aboriginal people\, and discusses the impacts of colonisation and how these still play out today. While the content may be based on Noongar culture and Whadjuk region\, the theories and learnings can be applied across Australia. \nThis session is ideal for individuals and teams starting out their Aboriginal Cultural Competency journey\, to facilitate real and lasting change through changed attitudes and behaviours at both a professional and personal level. \nTopics Include\n\nUnderstanding Aboriginal history\nKey cultural protocols\nAboriginal values\, belief systems and cultural protocols\nBarriers between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people\nWorking together for a better future\n\nWorkshop participants receive a certificate of participation and a resources list to help continue their journey.
