DESCRIPTION:Auspire presents a 4-hour Aboriginal Cultural Awareness workshop to gain knowledge and awareness of the culture\, history and experiences of Australia’s First Peoples. \nFacilitated by a First Nations’ leader\, this workshop explores the cultures\, values and belief systems of Aboriginal people\, and discusses the impacts of colonisation and how these still play out today. \nThis session is ideal for individuals and teams starting out their Aboriginal cultural competency journey\, to facilitate real and lasting change through changed attitudes and behaviours at both a professional and personal level. You will have the opportunity to have your questions answered within a culturally safe and inclusive space. \nTopics include:\n\nAboriginal history\nKey cultural protocols\, values and belief systems\nThe impact of colonisation and dispossession\nBarriers between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people today\nThe journey to wellbeing.\n\nPlease book by 16th September. DESCRIPTION:Auspire presents a 4-hour interactive Aboriginal Cultural Awareness workshop involving practical role play and role modelling scenarios to improve engagement and relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. \nFacilitated by a First Nations’ leader within a culturally safe and inclusive space\, this workshop applies knowledge\, theory and concepts of Aboriginal experiences and perspectives into scenarios and exercises that participants can use in real life today. Some knowledge of Aboriginal history and culture is advantageous\, but not essential. \nTopics include:\n\nHow to engage\, communicate and work with Aboriginal people including cultural protocols\nUnderstanding micro aggressions and unconscious bias\nRespecting significant sites/heritage areas\nUnderstanding cultural safety and how to work towards it\nSources and solutions to racism\nAwareness of white privilege and white fragility.\n\nThis is the opportunity to put theory into action and discover how we can all walk together for a positive future. If you feel there are gaps in your knowledge of Aboriginal culture and history\, our Bridging the Knowledge Gap workshop might be for you. \nPlease book by 4th November.
