DESCRIPTION:Intercultural understanding is about knowing how culture influences perception\, communication and collaboration. \nIndividuals and organisations with intercultural understanding and inclusive practices\, can encourage a sense of belonging at work for people from diverse cultural backgrounds – which is of paramount importance for maintaining psychosocial safety and wellness. \nPresented by Auspire – Australia Day Council WA\, Inclusive Practices: Building Intercultural Understanding and Belonging in the Workplace\, is a half-day workshop that explores the benefits and challenges of cultural diversity\, how to turn cultural diversity into opportunity\, and how to create a successful inclusive workplace. \nThis interactive session is ideal for individuals and small groups to enhance their intercultural understanding\, to better engage and work with people from different cultures. \nWorkshop Topics include: \n\nCultural tendencies and achieving alignment\nThe benefits and challenges of cultural diversity\nThe impact of pro-diversity beliefs on success\nThe dynamics of a successful inclusive workplace with intercultural understanding\nHow to support and engage with people with low intercultural competence\nIntercultural strategies through neuroscience and cultural understanding\n\nFinish the session with the confidence\, practical tools\, and essential framework to effectively work with colleagues\, clients\, customers\, contractors\, stakeholders\, managers and employees who are culturally diverse. \nMorning tea included. DESCRIPTION:Auspire presents a 4-hour interactive Aboriginal Cultural Awareness workshop during National Reconciliation Week\, involving practical role play and role modelling scenarios to improve engagement and relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. \nFacilitated by a First Nations’ leader within a culturally safe and inclusive space\, this workshop applies knowledge\, theory and concepts of Aboriginal experiences and perspectives into scenarios and exercises that participants can use in real life today. Some knowledge of Aboriginal history and culture is advantageous\, but not essential. \nTopics include:\n\nHow to engage\, communicate and work with Aboriginal people including cultural protocols\nUnderstanding micro aggressions and unconscious bias\nRespecting significant sites/heritage areas\nUnderstanding cultural safety and how to work towards it\nSources and solutions to racism\nAwareness of white privilege and white fragility.\n\nThis is the opportunity to put theory into action and discover how we can all walk together for a positive future.
