World Day for Cultural Diversity
In December 2002, the United Nations declared that 21 May each year should be the World Day for Cultural Diversity, for Dialogue and Development.
Cultural celebrations on Cultural Diversity Day foster respect and open-mindedness for other cultures. Celebrating our differences, as well as our common interests, helps unite and educate us all.
Festivities typically include art exhibitions, parades, and award ceremonies for distinguished artists and scholars.
