Mental Health Week Inspiring Australians Breakfast
Auspire – Australia Day Council WA invites you to join us for the next Inspiring Australian’s Breakfast featuring Professor Patrick McGorry AO live from Melbourne.
In support of Mental Health Week, this event will discuss the current state of mental health in our communities, and explore how we can improve connection and well-being in the wake of COVID-19. The keynote presentation will be presented by the ‘godfather’ of mental health, Professor Patrick McGorry AO streaming in live from Melbourne followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session with local mental health advocates.
Proudly presented in partnership with St John WA, WA’s leading ambulance and First Aid service provider for more than 125 years, this thought-provoking breakfast will have you inspired and ready to lead change in your workplace, home and community.
Professor Patrick McGorry is a leading international researcher, clinician and advocate for mental health. Professor McGorry is also a founding board member of Headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation. He believes that early intervention offers the greatest hope for recovery and therefore takes every opportunity to educate the community to recognise the early signs of mental illness, without stigmatising or discriminating. His extraordinary 27-year contribution to the mental health sector has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of young people the world over.
Hosted by Channel 9 personality Tracy Vo, Tracy will facilitate the in person panel discussion and Q&A session with local mental health advocates and Australian of the Year Alumni:
