Inspiring Australians Student Forum at UWA’s Octagon Theatre

Auspire will present its third Inspiring Australians Student Forum at UWA’s Octagon Theatre on Wednesday 3rd July 2019.

The theme for this year’s forum being Courage and Resilience.


This FREE event provides a platform for Year 10 students to hear from inspirational Australians from the Australian of the Year Awards Program and participate in a Q&A session.


2019 Speakers

  • 2019 Australian of the Year, Dr Craig Challen SC OAM. Dr Challen was a lead diver in the 2018 flooded cave rescue of 12 young Thai soccer players and their coach. Dr Challen is keen to encourage young people to challenge themselves, sometimes fail and try again.
  • 2019 WA Young Australian of the Year, Noelle Martin. Ms Martin fought to criminalise image-based sexual abuse in Australia after she discovered altered images from her social media accounts were stolen and turned into pornography.

To bring together young, future leaders from our WA high-schools to be challenged and motivated to be active participants in their community.



This event is geared to provide a platform for inspirational speakers from within the Inspiring Australians Network of Awards Alumni. Event objectives include:

  • Engaging with high school students about the positive outcomes of active citizenship
  • Setting a leadership agenda for young people in WA
  • Bringing attention to subjects/matters of community importance
