Harmony Week Debate — call out for participants

As part of Harmony Week 2019, the Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) will hold a debate on 21 March to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

OMI is seeking currently enrolled university students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to participate as panelists in the debate.

Students should be interested in engaging with the issues of multiculturalism and diversity and be comfortable delivering a four to five minute speech debating either the affirmative or negative position of the topic The Sharpeville massacre could never happen in Western Australia today.

Date:         9.30 to 11.30am Thursday 21 March 2019
Venue:     Subiaco Arts Centre
180 Hammersley Road, Subiaco

Students are required to commit to a first meeting with OMI staff, a few hours of preparation time to meet and discuss the topic with teammates, and the two hours for the event on 21 March 2019.
